A reliable new poll of Israeli public opinion shows that attitudes on the Gaza blockade are heavily hawkish -- in diametric opposition not only to most international reactions, but also much of the Israeli media's own commentary. This finding is the first detailed measurement of Israeli views following the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) violent boarding of the Gaza-bound Mavi Marmara, which resulted in the deaths of nine people. The poll surveyed Israeli Jewish opinion and was conducted by telephone interviews on June 7 by Pechter Middle East Polls, a young, Princeton, N.J.-based survey research and analysis firm working with pollsters throughout the region.

In the aftermath of the recent ship-boarding incident, three-quarters of Jewish Israelis say Israel should not open the Gaza Strip to international aid shipments. Narrower, yet still solid, majorities also say Israel should not accept an international investigation, nor adjust its tactics to win favorable international consideration.

Backward Israel is doom to fail, because Zionism is doom to fail

Supporting killing innocents is the first step of selfdestruction. It is only a matter of time to see the total crash of this backward state called israel. This state is nothing but a LIABILITY to USA, costing our budgets and tax money billions of dollars so far to protect and continue.

The better idea is to give Israel concept up.
it is better to the world and the US to restore the status of Palestine as sovereign republic.

Look how much benefits we obtain by doing this:

1.) when declaring the state of Palestine (over the complete territories, known today as Israel), at least 7 Million people living under the regime of Israel would then like to immigrate to USA, or Canada or Australia (keep in mind that 90% of these people came to the Middle East into the Israeli territory out of Europe or Africa as per immigrations acceptance).

Aviation industry will boom, because all these people has to FLY and use airplanes!

Also anther 10 Million Palestinians will re-locate back to their homes in Palestine;

Again the Aviation industry will boom over next 10 to 15 years.

2.) the construction in North America will boom.
Imagine the USA will obtain 5 Million jewish immigrants with governmental grants to have homes!

The construction companies will have to build new homes....

Boosting up the construction business!

3.) Since the transition Israel to Palestine , i.e. to Restore the state of Palestine will not happen straight forward (because extremist israelis citizens such as the settlers will create wars) Wars will take place initially on the ground, but then peace will override.

Here too, the war machine industry will be satisfied a bit.

4.) Connecting Palestine with surrounding countries.

there will be huge boom in the middle east by building bridges and telecommunciation and energy interconnected infrastructure with surrounding countries.

All this will happen with massive help of European, Asian, and American companies.

In closing, To dissolve Israel peacefully or to Restore the state of Palestine is a huge business potential to the world, but mostly it is peace that will govern the area of Europe and Middle east for long long long time to come.

Sounds like an old British idea.

BK, thank you for the very simple analysis of what should be done to solve the Palestinian-Israeli problem...but you didn't talk about what Palestinians will get what land. Hamas and Fatah will not reconcile anytime soon...furthermore, the US and most of the great powers only want to deal with Fatah...so keep Gaza locked up? Anyway, what you are talking about is a huge war, that is the only way to destroy a country and a people (the Israelis) the way you are describing. Nice smiley face at the end, perhaps you should include a pic of you riding your unicorn over the rainbow and living happily ever after on your mountain of blood...The ideas you suggest sound very similar to old British ideas that created half of the worlds problems today.

Now Jadallah

Now Jadallah, by failing to preform sufficient research, making up bogus statistics, and spewing hateful rhetoric you are only contributing to the extremism that has allowed the Palestinian Israeli conflict to remain unresolved! I find your assumptions and generalizations alarming and unacceptable. There are a replica omega slew of NGOs formed by Jews for Jews to oppose the blockade of Gaza. Just because you don't agree with the foreign policy of a nation doesn't give you a right to ASSUME ALL ISRAELIS SUPPORT THE POLICY. You even take it one step further, you have to prove your ignorance and hate by claiming all Jews around the world support controversial policies of Israel?! There are even large numbers of Jews who hope for the destruction of Israel for reasons that are irrelevant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Zionism
