'Among the Righteous:' Arabs Saving Jews in the Holocaust

"Among the Righteous: Lost Stories from the Holocaust in Arab lands," is a new documentary I made in partnership with MacNeil-Lehrer Productions, airing tonight on PBS. It retells largely forgotten stories from World War II in North Africa of Arabs who saved their Jewish neighbors from the Holocaust -- a story which Holocaust historiography has largely left untouched. The documentary digs into history to uncover not only cases of Jewish persecution in North Africa similar to the Jewish experience in Europe, but also stories of the "righteous" Arabs that protected Jews. Filmed in eight different countries stretching from Morocco to Israel, the documentary reveals surprising discoveries about the past that can help challenge how Arabs and Jews alike view this part of Holocaust history.

The documentary airs tonight on PBS at 10 p.m. eastern time.

You can also see my documentary "Among the Righteous II"

it tells the story of righteous Jews who gave sanctuary to Sudanese refugees hiding from Israeli immigration squads who wanted to deport them back to the genocide in Darfur.

Its really cool, because by highlighting that there are a few righteous Jews, Im actually pointing out that most of them are not. Its like a hit piece disguised in a nice, cuddly puff-piece coating that lets me get in a few nice sucker punches. Course, I would have liked to do a nice, fire-breathing hit piece but those pantywaist liberals at PBS would never have taken it.

Bitter truth about the Yahoodi label about Jewish machinations

The bitter truth about the Yahoodi label about Jewish machinations in Arabia is that the label is correctly perceived and appropriately applied by the Arabs and Muslims of the region.

Was there any Palestinian resistance (conveniently termed as terrorism by Jews / Israelis and their American puppets) before the Stern Gang terrorists and their brethren in the form of East European Jews started killing innocent, unarmed Palestinian men, women and children from circa 1930's and onwards? Answer: NO.

Were there any suicide bombings in West Bank and Gaza of Palestine before 1967 when Israel illegally invaded and occupied West Bank and Gaza of Palestine? Answer: No.

Were the mulitiple invasions and the utter destruction of Iraq by America incited and goaded on by Israel and the Israeli lobby? Answer: Yes.

Yes, the bitter truth about the Yahoodi label for the Jewish machinations in Arabia is that the label is correctly perceived and perfectly applied.

Your speech is more revealing; you've never been to Morocco to judge it. Why not ask yourself about why too many Jews still make pilgrimages to Morocco, in large numbers, coming from all over the world, even from Israel itself? You can always ask your ancestors.

You make no sense. Not least of all you are wrong. I have been to Morocco.

Where I have been or not been is completely irrelevant. I am not claiming to have witnessed any of these atrocities and massacres of Jews. I am too young so I 1rst heard the stories from my grandparents (Palestine and Iraq) and as I got older I meet more and more people. Jews from Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Egypt of course and then you hear more and more of the stories. The stories are never good.

Yes many Jews make pilgrimages (as opposed to living there) to visit Rabbi's tomb in Morocco. Jews also make pilgrimage to Ukraine, and even to to Aushwitz. It is pilgrimage as tourist Jews aren't moving there. What is your point?

Nostalgia for the homeland, Morocco.

I am a Lebanese who, with his parents, fled civil war in his country, Lebanon; all I knew, from some Jews who still live in Morocco, is that those who fled to Israel have been somehow misled being told lies in order to frighten them as most of them had refused the idea!

Dont be too eager to believe everything Religions preach or the what the people behind them teach. Dont believe everything you read. Let me remind you all that mankind has dominated and controlled Religion. Let me also remind you of how Every Man has capability to perform even the smallest evil deed. Fathers and Mothers have always lied to their children in hopes to protect them from certain things. And they say it is for the child's own good.

Well what is stopping religious people from doing the same thing in the name of protection. (no religion is free from corruption so long as Man is around)

Why one can't find any righteous Jews

Why one can't find any righteous Jews who stand up against the Thugs of Israel who on a daily basis slaughter and stiffle Palestinians in Palestine?

Why over 90% of foreign East European Jews illegally occupying Palestine consider Palestinians a problem in their own land and support the land confiscations, mass arrests, jailing without trial, even deportation from their own land and outright state sponsored assassinations?

And these Jews have the gall to call themselves "liberal"?

There is nothing liberal about such Jews. Who has heard of East Europeans, Poles or Russians as liberal or even civilised? Remember Russian Mafia is mostly Jewish Mafia.

There is no equivalent of immoral-occupation-of-Palestine

In Iran or Pakistan no foreigners are illegally occupying the lands or consider natives a problem in their own land or support the land confiscations, mass arrests, jailing without trial, even deportation from their own land or outright state sponsored assassinations.

However, such ugly things are happening in Iraq and Afghanistan, because the Israeli-American-Jew-Neocons have incited the Americans to invade and occupy these hapless countries and create situations equivalent of illegal occupation of Palestine in Iraq and Afghanistan and hence the similar results.

There is no equivalent of immoral-occupation-of-Palestine-by-the-Jews in the world in all of modern history.

Leave Jews out of it

It could be a good starting point for anyone that has even the smallest desire to be taken seriously.

Collective guilt is evil no matter who it issues from.

Need I remind some of the Jew-bashers here that a Wise Book claims that "no soul bears the burden of another soul."

There are plenty of Jews who can't sleep at night over the injuries visited upon Palestinians at the hands of their co-religionists.

You only do yourselves a disservice by being consumed to such an extent by your hatred that you visit the injuries of some, upon all.
